Low key atmosphere
Dinner was great!Large portions, climate controlled, and so many rooms of books and art for viewing and sale.
A great place to eat with top notch service!!
Under new ownership and couldnt be better! Down home comfort foods and an inventive rotating menu. Laid back atmosphere with quick and friendly service.
Great food, great service, very nice atmosphere and lots of books
Nice and quiet for lunch. Food was fresh and yummy. Nice secondhand books for sale.
Really nice place. Gathered here after finishing the series of Young Performers Show. Had a good time.
This was a fun place to eat. We stopped here on the way home from a garden tour we went on to St Joe, MO. There was two Arrow buses and the staff was very good at getting us seated and served.
This was a nice surprise in Brownville. The food and service were very good. Looking forward to eating here everytime we visit Brownville.
Great food in the historic river town of Brownville, Nebraska!
Every summer my friend and I make a trip to Brownville. We have lunch at this very cute diner, then go have wine at Whiskey Creek Winery. The food is very good and the winery is charming.
Passing through Brownville and stopped for lunch. Good food and feiendly people. Very nice experience.
Family gathering
Great place limited hours. Check
Great little fun location. Nice staff. Fun selection of books to look through before and after the meal.
Good food gorgeous waitress
Good to see it's open again for business. The menu is limited but the food is very good.
It was a wonderful place for people to get together and eat a bite
The service and food was good. The tomato bisque soup had a strong tomato flavor, I personally prefer a bisque with a creamy base. The gumbo had a tomato base similar to that of a vegetable soup. The chicken salad on a croissant was a bit runny but had great flavor with bits of celery for a good crunch and the coleslaw was real good. The portion of meatballs and gratin potatoes was huge. The potatoes didn't have any sign of cheese and they were a bit dry, like the consistency of dry mashed potatoes. The meatballs had a good flavor and were good sized. I liked the art work displayed on the walls.
The food was wonderful.
The food is awesome, the ambiance is superb and the owner is a joy. Wish i could give it 50 🌟 's
Quaint little place. Food was good. Real mashed potatoes...can't beat that. Carrot cake was also very yummy, not too sweet and very moist.
The hours advertised did not match the hours they are actually open. It was a former bookstore, but no longer allowed to roam through the books. The original atmosphere that was here on my last visit is totally gone. It was a great old bookstore, where you could grab a beer and look through the stacks, with some great finds in the dusty corners, now it is just another yuppie eatery. Drove all the way there for the advertised two story bookstore and was turned away...after waiting thirty minutes for it to open thirty minutes after it states it will open. Very, very disappointed.
Consistently good food and service.
Small Town with delicious food and treats
Cute place!
Cozy
Great food and service. Dessert was absolutely amazing. Will go back next time I am in the area.
Yes, The Lyceum is really open again as of May 16, 2017! The menu is limited, as it was a year ago, and changes daily, but this is the only restaurant in town. Brownville is such a beautiful and historical place, we need to support all efforts to help keep this community alive and vibrant. The Lyceum is quirky and unexpected but good food and good service. Also, new art displayed often, and it's all available for sale!
Hospitality is great. Food is even better.
A wonderful new treat in an otherwise plain world. Food and books!
Don't know about the food the lady behind the cash register was extremely rude and unhelpful, we did not stay
Nice little place.
Fun place to go in an historic town. Good basic cooking and service. Just the place to go to get away from the city.
excellent food, great place to visit with family and friends
Wonderful food!
Great food and get a lot of food for your money
